A 19-day social media challenge has been launched by Dr. Wilfred C. Alik, MD, Dr. Vid Raatior, EdD, and a few PLAN members to bring awareness to two things: 1) the disproportionate number of COVID-19 infections and deaths among Pacific Islanders and, 2) the launch of a COFA COVID-19 Family Needs Assessment survey for citizens of the Compact of Free Association (COFA) nations of the FSM, RMI, and Palau living in the US.
Challenge Rules:
- Day 1: Fill out the COFA Survey on www.cofacovid.com
- 19 Days: Do 19 sit ups followed by 19 push ups
- Each day: Videotape it and post on FB and nominate a new COFA citizen to join the challenge
- Use hashtags: #cofacovid, #stayhomestaysafe
Wearing mask during the challenge symbolizes the need for COFA citizens to protect themselves and others by wearing mask when out in public.
The hope is that each person nominates 19 people (families) to complete the survey.
