The Pacific Leadership Assistance Network (PLAN) is a coalition of independent Micronesian professionals championing Pacific-relevant, culturally-appropriate, Micronesia-focused leadership development programs for organizations, schools, agencies, businesses, service providers that support the Micronesian diaspora in the United States.
Founded as a part of the Pacific FocusEd initiative, PLAN is being developed as a direct response to the growing demand from schools, organizations, and service providers in the United States for experts on culturally responsive strategies to support the needs of the immigrants population in the US from the Micronesian region. That large region which comprises of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Guam, Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and the Republic of Palau (ROP).
PLAN provides a centralized location for schools and organizations to access Micronesian experts to support their organizational needs. Whether they are developing a curriculum to educate students and their staff about the unique cultures and needs of the Micronesian people in Hawaii or need keynote speakers for a planned conference…they can PLAN accordingly.
PLAN simply organizes a directory of members to assist teachers, principals, service providers to become effective and culturally-sensitive leaders in supporting the Pacific Island community. The PLAN website (www.pacificleaders.com) will become the premiere site to find independent consultants who share a common purpose. Membership includes Pacific Islanders and other consultants with a wide variety of personal and professional experiences of the Pacific Island values, cultures, experiences, and traditions.
Join us if you have areas of expertise to support our Micronesian diaspora.
