Emma moved to Hawai‘i from the Marshall Islands in 2001 to attend Hawai‘i Pacific University. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2008. Currently working for EPIC ‘Ohana Conferencing as a Coordinator Manager, Emma oversees statewide coordination between Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management and Family Strengthening Services. As a native Marshallese speaker, Emma interprets and facilitates meetings for Marshallese families and also provides cultural trainings. She has over nine years of experience working with children and families. Emma is a native of the Marshall Islands and part American. Emma was born and raised on Majuro atoll and is fluent in Marshallese and English. Emma is a third generation of her family business operation servicing the Marshall Islands for over 60 years.
