PLAN members Shanty Sigrah Asher, Josie Howard, Thomas Raffipiy, Dr. Sheldon Riklon, Innocenta Sound-Kikku, led by PLAN founder Dr. Vid Raatior represented the voices and interest of our COFA youth at the 36th National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) at the Hawaii Convention Center. Our session, “Navigating Success: Case Studies and Strategies to Support Micronesian Youth Achieve Success,” was one of the workshops sponsored by the newly launched Oceania Caucus (OCNCORE) for Native Hawaiians & Pacific Islanders. The COFA leaders shared the work they are all doing in mitigating health disparity, educational & resource allocation inequities, cultural and identity loss for our COFA community on Oahu, Arkansas, Hilo, Kona, and elsewhere.
