Dr. Joakim Peter Memorial Scholarship
Several PLAN members have created the Dr. Joakim Peter Memorial Scholarship to fund an emerging leader from the Compact of Free Association (COFA) community pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees at an accredited college or university who exemplify the life and values of community service of the late PLAN member Dr. Joakim Peter who passed away in 2019.
Recipients of the scholarship are admitted into the A+JOJO Scholars Program. Ideal applicants are college students who exemplify the life and values of Dr. Joakim Peter in resiliency, hard work, leadership, dedication to social justice, and commitment to advocating for the well-being of the COFA community. A+JOJO Scholars should have a proven commitment to community service, advocacy, and human rights issues. You may demonstrate this by sharing your past and current work or by sharing your future hopes and dreams on the application form essay.
Please visit the A+JOJO Scholars website to learn more about the scholarship and how you can support this way to keep the memories of our colleague and friend alive in the next generation.
